Changes for May 2019
As our membership grows and club events continue to gain increased popularity, the Board of Directors has had to take a closer look at the way we are currently conducting business and organizing events. To function more efficiently, we will be moving forward with the following changes, effective immediately:
Mountain Passages Newsletter – Beginning with the May 2019 issue, the club will no longer publish a monthly newsletter in either print or digital format. This difficult decision was made for the following reasons: 1) Finding an editor, graphic designer AND advertising manager who could put in the adequate volunteer hours that are needed to create the publication and meet deadlines every month has been a struggle; and 2) Getting original content from our membership has been minimal at best, despite numerous attempts to do so. Most of what you’ll need is available on this website. The club also has 2 Facebook pages (1 closed group, 1 open page) which can be found by searching for “Alpine Mountain Region Porsche Club of America”. The newsletter archive is now located under the Information tab.
Tours – Effective with the upcoming “Red Rocks” Tour (6/1), when you register for a day tour on MotorsportReg.com, there will now be a $10 fee per car (not per person). That fee (minus 2%) will not be charged if you cancel for the event before the deadline.
Socials – Each month we are experiencing a frustrating situation where people who RSVP’d for the socials, don’t cancel their reservation in a timely manner or at all. That means that those members on the waiting list could not be contacted in adequate time to attend instead. Also, we typically have contracts in place with various restaurants, and if we don’t meet the minimum $ amount, the club is liable for the difference. Effective with the June membership social, all RSVP’s will now be conducted through MotorsportReg.com. RSVP’s will no longer accepted via email, telephone or social media (except Porsches and Pancakes). Also, if you don’t cancel your RSVP within 48 hours of the day of the social, you will be charged $20 per person.
If you are experiencing problems getting our regular e-blasts, please go to the PCA National website (www.pca.org) to be sure that all of your information is current and correct. If you don’t already have a Motorsportreg.com account, please use the following link to set one up: https://www.motorsportreg.com/. (posted 09 May)
