Guaranteed this will be more fun than the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Please join us on an Saturday, June 2 for an afternoon drive down to Bishop’s Castle. We will depart at 1:00 PM from 1st and Main Town Center (north parking lot at the Holiday Inn Express, 3431 Cinema Point) in Colorado Springs. Plan to arrive by 12:15 PM for registration and a mandatory driver’s meeting. Hint: The 1st Saturday June Car Show is earlier in the morning, so make a day of it.
We will first head south along Hwy 115 toward Fairview and Bishop’s Castle. After exploring the castle, we will head to Westcliffe, then north to Hwy 50 and Texas Creek and finally east to Canon City where we will end the tour about 5:30 PM. The Tour Registration is open on MotorsportReg.com.
Now, you are probably wondering where is the train? As an option after the tour, join your friends for a Murder Mystery train ride and dinner on the Royal Gorge Route that departs at 6:30 PM from Canon City. Reservations are limited for the dinner train and can be made by calling the Royal Gorge Route, 719-276-4000, and adding to the existing confirmation #381523 at a cost of $134 per person. There is a minimum age of 8 years old for the dinner. It’s a three course dinner with your choice of Chicken Teriyaki, Roasted Pork Shank, Roasted Prime Rib, Atlantic Salmon, Vegetable Napoleon, or Vegetarian Wellington (includes chef’s choice dessert).
