May Membership Social @ Edelweiss German Restaurant

The May membership social will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at Edelweiss German Restaurant (34 East Ramona Avenue, Colorado Springs, 80905).  Drinks will start at 6:00 PM and dinner will be served from a special menu at 6:30 PM.  RSVP is required as space is limited to 65 people! Feel free to wear your Lederhosen and Dirndl dresses!

This month, we will be supporting Tri-Lakes Cares, which is a critical resource in northern El Paso County, providing human services and a food pantry for those in need.  We will be collecting donations to fill the most urgent needs of the food pantry… unopened and unexpired donations of:

The 39th Annual Colorado Concours d’Elegance and Exotic Sports Car Show @ Arapahoe Community College

The Colorado Concours d’Elegance & Exotic Sports Car Show, which was founded in 1984 by RMR members Tom Scott and Stim Kennedy, is the largest gatherings of priceless and exotic sports, classic and exotic automobiles in Mountain States area. Over 400 treasured cars from early classics and collector cars to vintage race cars and current models will be on display. Many of these incredible cars come out only once a year for this show, to help the children of Ability Connection Colorado. Over 100 local and regional car clubs, businesses and media sponsors attract 10,000 spectators to generate funds for ACC. Now in its 39th year, the show has become one of the most spectacular, most entertaining and anticipated car shows in Colorado!

To date this spectacular event has raised over $2,500,000 for the ACC Creative Options Early Childhood Education Centers which specialize in providing early care, intervention, prevention, support and education services to expectant mothers and nearly 800 infants, toddlers and pre-school children and their families.

The Concours d’Elegance and Exotic Sports Car Show is also a excellent opportunity for corporate sponsors to experience tremendous exposure for their company. This prestigious show reaches a well educated and influential audience of car collectors and enthusiasts as well as the general public. The kids win and the corporate sponsors win. Judged – All judging will be performed on the exterior, interior,

storage and engine compartments, no wheel well or under carriage.

Display – No judging will be performed.

A complete packet of rules, score sheets and other information will be mailed to all entrants one week before the event.

There is a special Concours judging Group for elite level cars:

The Elite Concours Group judging will be based on: Styling, engineering excellence, elegance, presentation, condition, cleanliness, and quality of preservation or restoration and historical significance.

Be a spectator. Bring the family out and enjoy the fabulous array of Porsches, Jaguars, Ferraris, Corvettes, Mercedes Benz, BMWs, Lotus, Maseratis, as well as a long list of other marques

Volunteer to help us on the day of the show. The exotic car clubs in Denver join together to host and manage this show so that all of the income can be provided to help the children. Click on the volunteer tab on the home page to sign up as a volunteer for helping with staging cars, help the judging and scoring, or work at the entrance gate.

Donate a little extra. An additional $10 donation on the registration form would bring in more than $750 extra from our club. Of course, even if you don’t register a car you can write a separate check to ACC, 801 Yosemite St., Denver, CO 80230.

Registration Information (All registrations include two event passes)

Registration Fee $50.00 per car – Must be received by May 20, 2022.

$100.00 per car for Elite Group judging

Late Registration Fee $75.00 – Received after May 20 or on the day

of the event, these are DISPLAY only entrants, no judging.

Spectator Donation – $10.00

Please note there are several very special deadlines:

May 16, 2022 – Final date for inclusion in the event program.

May 20, 2022 – Final date to have your car judged.

AMR Breckenridge Tour @ Bear Creek Park Pavillions

AMR’s tour will be a spectacular run to picturesque Breckenridge, Colorado on Sunday June 19th, 2022.

Please join us for a great drive to one of Colorado’s most beautiful and scenic resorts. On this tour we’ll drive northeast through Pike National Forest passing through Woodland Park, Deckers, Kenosha and Red Hill Passes, then on through Fairplay, Alma and Hoosier pass, arriving in Breckenridge. Some great twisting roads and magnificent views await you and your copilot!

And upon arrival at the Ice Rink parking lot at the south end of town, we plan to take a group photo at the big Troll. https://brecktroll.com/

 

We will depart at 8:30 am from Bear Creek Park Pavilions (west side of 21st Street) on Argus Blvd.

Plan to arrive at 8:00 am for event check-in and a mandatory driver’s meeting. 

 

We are not planning an organized post-tour social, however, Breckenridge has many restaurants you may wish to visit on your own or you could bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the town’s beautiful parks. It is a short walk into town from the ice rink, but there are also free town buses which depart from there.

7th ANNUAL SNOWMASS TOUR AND HERITAGE FIRE EVENT

Attention Porsche Enthusiasts and Foodies- Registration is now open!

This scenic driving tour will depart from Porsche Colorado Springs after a light breakfast. We will head to Buena Vista for Lunch followed by a breath-taking drive over Independence Pass arriving in Snowmass early in the afternoon. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the Crestwood Condominium’s amenities before their Welcome Wine reception. Friday dinner will also be included at a local restaurant. On Saturday morning, join us for a half day tour up to Paonia with lunch included. We will be back early afternoon, so everyone has time to relax before heading across the street to the Heritage Fire Event (participants have option of purchasing Heritage Fire Tickets or Dining on their own). This wonderful multiple hour dining event will conclude the amazing weekend.

For those who have not heard of the Heritage Fire Snowmass Event – here is a short description: Presented by Cochon555, Heritage Fire is a premiere, whole-animal, nationwide food and wine tour celebrating heritage breed livestock and heirloom produce. The afternoon feast offers an endless array of sustainably sourced food from the region’s top family farms and local purveyors, prepared by some of the region’s best chefs.

Registration will offer the base tour (all meals on Friday, Breakfast & Lunch on Saturday) and lodging on Friday and Saturday night in beautiful one bedroom condominiums.
