IT’S BACK!! You know you’ve been missing it. Come shake off the cold, hang out with your favorite car people and enjoy some relaxed conversation over a great breakfast.
We will also cover upcoming events for the club. We’ll talk about tours, socials, track events, and volunteer opportunities. Come out and meet some new car friends!
Uncle Sam’s Pancake House – back room
341 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829-2537
Our space at the restaurant is limited as is the parking, so get there early!
You’ve cleaned up your car and are headed out for some errands, but you decide to take the “long way” including some nice curvy roads. As you settle into the drive, you smile at the feeling of acceleration and the sound of your engine as your smoothy take one curve and then another. Your mind wanders for a moment…”I wonder what it would be like to take this on a racetrack?”
Modern technology has given us cars with capabilities far above what is required for daily driving. Most people never get the opportunity to experience, firsthand, the true potential of their Porsche. Taking that same “daily driver” to the track allows you to see just what these cars are actually capable of.
Come join seasoned drivers and first-timers alike at DE 101 where our panel will give you all the information you need to safely and successfully attend an event. The goal of every DE is to educate, build skills and teach the application of advanced driving techniques that are essential on a track – but also helpful on your regular commute. It is not racing school! Using the confines of a racetrack allows our instructors to provide the first-time driver, or the track-junkie with a safe and controlled environment to learn and practice these skills.
Surrounded by awesome cars, our interactive panel of drivers will share all there is to know about preparing, attending and enjoying an HPDE. We’ll cover how to register, prepare your car for the track, tech inspection and what to do an expect when you arrive for your HPDE weekend. If you’re just curious about how a DE works – this is the Class for you. If you want to find out what volunteer opportunities exist – this is the Class for you too! We welcome members and non-members alike! You don’t have to own a porsche to participate.
There is no charge to attend, but we do ask that you register. Registration is OPEN and will close on March 10th. First time participants that attend this class will receive a discount on their first AMR HPDE Registration. We can’t extend the discount if you do not register!!
Saturday March 11th 9-11 am

Treffen Georgia Mountains – Touring the Southern Blue Ridge
On behalf of the members of the Peachstate Region and the Treffen North America staff, we would like to invite you to attend Treffen Georgia Mountains – Touring the Southern Blue Ridge. Experience four days of driving, fine dining, and exploring as PCA heads to the historic high country of Northwest Georgia over April 19 – 23, 2023.
Our host for the week is the uniquely Southern-styled Barnsley Resort, located outside the small town of Adairsville. Situated on the grand, historic Barnsley Estate built by Godfrey Barnsley, the resort opened in 1999 with a pedestrian-friendly, English-inspired village setting with luxurious guest cottages. The 55-room Inn at Barnsley Resort and Georgian Hall opened in 2018. The Barnsley is a pet-friendly resort on 3,000 scenic acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It offers visitors the pleasures and pursuits of a fine Southern estate: exceptional culinary creations by Chef Javier Cuesta, a championship golf course, a sporting club, relaxing spa, excellent horseback riding and trails and wilderness for hiking, walking and biking. Ideal for leisure vacations, romantic getaways, business meetings and sparkling events, this celebrated retreat is just a short drive from both Atlanta and Chattanooga.
The Barnsley Resort is an ideal launching point for our planned driving tours and NDO activities. With mountain roads spanning all directions, destinations such as Booth Western Art Museum, the Wolf Mountain Winery, the Bavarian Village of Helen, the newly completed Savoy Automotive Museum, etc. are all within reach. We also have plans for bus tours to HQ PCNA/Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta. The Peachstate Region eagerly awaits to show you the beauty of the Northern Georgia.
eave the crowded roads behind for an AMR off-road adventure that offers spectacular views and winding roads. We will navigate along Rampart Range Road west of Colorado Springs and then head north to Mt. Herman before decending into Monument for lunch. The tour will have an approximate distance of 60 miles with an expected duration of about 4.5 hours.
Rampart Range Road was built during the Great Depression (1930s) by the Civil Conservation Corps. Often very exposed and unsecured through the innumerable twists and turns, it offers spectacular views of Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods and Waldo Canyon. The elevation along the road varies from 6,346 – 9,505 feet.
Please come prepared! There are NO SERVICES along Rampart Range Road, very few “exits” along the way and could have limited cell service.
The tour will end in Monument at La Casa Fiesta – New Mexican Restaurant (optional, with seperate checks).
Event requirements
NEW REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: PLEASE HAVE ALL PERSONS THAT WILL ATTEND THE TOUR REGISTER ON MREG. IF PASSENGERS REGISTER FIRST, THEN THE PRIMARY DRIVER, THE DRIVER CAN CHOOSE AT HIS/HER REGISTRATION WHO WILL BE RIDING IN THE CAR WITH THEM. THIS GIVES US AN ACCURATE COUNT OF CARS AND ALSO PEOPLE – AND FACILITATES RECEIVING SPEED WAIVERS.
We will meet at 7:30 AM at Porshe Colorado Springs to check in. All drivers and car occupants must sign a paper waiver if they have not completed the electronic “speed waiver” before leaving on the tour. There will be a MANDATORY driver’s briefing at 8 AM.
Expect the tour to take the full 4.5 hours. There is no “bail out” option on Rampart Range Road
Please complete the PCA Off-Road Driving Tour Self-Inspection Safety Checklist.pdf before arriving and bring to check-in (required to participate in this off-road tour)
Please also indicate in your registration if you will be joining us at Casa Fiesta for lunch!
When’s the last time you’ve been to Pike’s Peak International Raceway? Since 2019? 2015? Longer??? Time to break that streak and join AMR in our First Triple Play Weekend!! What the heck is a Triple Play Weekend?? Easy. #1 A High-Performance Drivers Education event (2 days, Saturday and Sunday) #2 a one-day Wash & Shine Car Show on Saturday and #3 an Autocross on Sunday! Try one – or all three!! All at close-by, easy to get to Pike’s Peak International Raceway.
For those that are HPDE-minded: First time driving on a track? Sign up and come on down. Our talented instructors will make you feel comfortable in your car and get you safely conquering 2/3rds of the famed oval plus the exciting infield course! Those of you that have been to PPIR – the Club has not had an HPDE there since 2019 – bring your car and your skills to the track.
Information and registration HERE for the HPDE: HPDE REGISTRATION
Wash & Shine Car Show!! A first for us here! Bring your favorite car: vintage, brand-new or “franken-car” – clean or not-so clean…and enter the Car Show. You’ll be judged (by your peers) on some fun and unique categories! There is no cost to enter. The show will take place during the Saturday HPDE. Walk around, grab a bite from the food truck and vote on your favorite car! Winners will be announced after the HPDE concludes on Saturday.
After the Car Show and the HPDE gather together and enjoy dinner in the Upstairs Banquet Room overlooking the track. Please sign up so we know how much food to have. The car show is free, and dinner is $10/head and will be collected at the door.
Registration for both the CAR SHOW and DINNER can be found HERE: CAR SHOW AND/OR DINNER REGISTRATION
Sunday will come soon enough, and time for our first Autocross of the year! Autocross is a FANTASTIC way to get to know your car in a lower speed environment with no obstacles or other cars to worry about. Learn car control, brake application and more! NEW this year: watch the second group run while “professional” cone shaggers keep the course clear!! Taking place in the West Lot of PPIR, come watch the AX, or the DE – we will have a food truck on site for the entire weekend. This is a great way to take advantage without the commitment of seeing how these events run. If nothing else, you’ll have a blast watching it all happen! Registration and information about the Autocross HERE: AUTOCROSS REGISTRATION
It’s been since 2019 that we’ve been to PPIR for an HPDE – it’s time to go back and SHIFT INTO SUMMER!
Come on down to the closest track in town! Just a few minutes south of Colorado Springs, in beautiful Fountain, CO.
We will be driving 3/4 of the banked oval, with a quick drop into the challenging infield road course. When the facility was originally built it was touted as having the fasted oval track in the USA. Be part of history and drive part of that same oval. As always, our talented instructors will be on hand to safely get anyone up and running on the track. This is a great track for all drivers – novice to experienced.
Registration will close on Sunday May 1st. Be sure to register early. Priority in being confirmed is based on the date and time you register. ALL DRIVERS WILL BE WAITLISTED UPON REGISTRATION until the event/AMR CDI Team confirms your driving status and availability of an instructor should one be required/requested.
