AMR TECH SESSION @ Porsche Colorado Springs
Feb 15 @ 9:00 am – 10:30 am

Porsche HPDE events require a tech inspection of your car before it is allowed on the track. Tech inspections may be completed by any professional repair shop, or any club member who has attended the AMR Tech Inspection Training Class.

By taking this class, you will be able to help out a fellow club member by inspecting their car pre-event (no – you cannot tech your own car), and help event chairs by assisting with tech inspections at the track. You will also learn how to inspect your own car and to make sure it will pass a qualified tech inspection.

Please join us for the class, which will start promptly at 9 am on Saturday, February 15th (should conclude no later than 10:30 am). Coffee, juice and light snacks will be provided.

AMR HDPE 101 @ Porsche Colorado Springs
Mar 7 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

  High Performance Driver’s Education 101
Saturday, March 7th – 9:00 to 11:00 AM
Hosted by Porsche Colorado Springs

Have you ever wondered what High Performance Drivers Education Events (HPDE) are really like? Is it racing? Can I use my daily driver? Do I need special tires? Will it hurt my car? Will I feel intimidated by the “track junkies”? What do I need to get started?

To help answer your questions, AMR Porsche Club is hosting a “HPDE 101” session at Porsche Colorado Springs (917 Motor City Dr. 80905) on March 7th from 9:00-11:00 AM. This is a free seminar. Come learn about how to participate in driving your car on a race track. You’ll learn what our PCA High Performance Driver Education (“HPDE”) program is all about and why you should consider joining in on the fun. Our HPDE program focuses on teaching you how to safely control your car on a racetrack. Although our HPDE’s take place on a race track, the skills you’ll learn transfer to the street and highway and just may help you avoid an accident or save your life. We will answer all your questions about taking your car out for a new adventure. You will learn about what to expect, how to prepare, and how to register, as well as a host of other relevant information.

This HPDE 101 introduction is just 6 weeks before our first 2020 AMR HPDE! We currently have four AMR HPDEs scheduled this year:

Pikes Peak International Raceway (April 18-19)

Pueblo Motorsports Park (May 30-31)

Pueblo Motorsports Park (September 5-6)

La Junta Raceway (October 3-4)

We will present an overview of HPDE 101 events and have several of our HPDE participants share their stories. As extra incentive, we are offering a $50 credit towards HPDE registration costs to all “newbies” (first timers) who attend HPDE 101! All members are welcome. There is NO cost to participate in the HPDE 101 session, but RSVP is required. Coffee, juice, and light breakfast snacks will be provided. So, join your Porsche friends, or make some new ones at Porsche Colorado Springs on March 7th!

Jun 27 @ 8:15 am – 12:00 pm

Finally, it’s time to get our fellow Porsche friends back together to tour our beautiful Colorado vistas! We’ll combine our first 2020 tour with a charity event by making donations (no food) to the Care and Share Food Bank. Please be generous with your cash, or check donations to help our less-fortunate neighbors through these trying times.

Join us on Saturday, June 27th for a morning drive to Bishop Castle. We will depart at 9:00 AM from the Cinemark Tinseltown parking lot at 1545 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Plan to arrive by 8:15 AM for check-in and a mandatory driver’s meeting.

We’ll start our tour on Highway 115, heading south toward Fairview and Bishop’s Castle. After exploring the castle, we’ll head to Westcliffe, then north to Hwy 50 and Texas Creek and finally east to Canon City, where the tour will end at Veteran’s Park. We are not planning an organized post-tour lunch. However, Canon City has many restaurants you may wish to visit on your own or you can bring a sack lunch to enjoy in the park or elsewhere.

Registration is now closed.

IMPORTANT: In compliance with State of Colorado guidelines and in order to ensure our members’ safety, we must maintain social distancing. Additionally, it is a requirement that all tour participants wear a face-mask while outside their vehicles. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE TOUR WITH A MASK FOR EACH PARTICIPANT. Extra hand sanitizer, disposable gloves, trash baskets, disposable face masks and cleaners/disinfectants will be available at the start of the tour, but please bring your own. Participants and volunteers should stay at home if they are at higher risk for severe illness, or if they are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, must stay home.
