AMR SOCIAL – APR @ La Casa Fiesta

Join RMR for the first HPR event of the year! An excellent team of instructors & volunteers to Zoom your Porsche around the best track Colorado has to offer. As of now (Covid PCA rules), Lead/Follow instruction will be implemented so the number of registrations will be reduced. This could change as we approach May 1st.

Chris Macarak of On-Site Tires will provide his incredible Saturday night unique Brats ‘n’ Beer dinner with a variety of wonderful brats (in the past, it’s been rattlesnake, deer, elk antelope as well as traditional brats – who knows what Chris will cook up this year? You will, if you attend!) You’ll love On-Site’s personal and professional services at the track, business or home!

Location: High Plains Raceway, 17 miles east of Byers on US-36 (Deer Trail)

AMR CRIPPLE CREEK TOUR
May 15 all-day

Please join us on May 15th for the first AMR tour of 2021 to historic Cripple Creek, Colorado. On this tour we will travel the back roads on the west side of Pikes Peak through the area’s historic and present day mining district. You might even see people in period costume that will tell you all about this former gold mining camp and now the Pikes Peak region’s nearest gambling town. In the late 1800s, thousands of fortune-seekers made their way to Pikes Peak for the country’s last great gold rush.Some great twisting roads and magnificent views await you and your Porsche.

We will depart at 8:30 AM from Porsche of Colorado Springs at 917 Motor City Drive in Colorado Springs. Plan to arrive at the dealership by 8:00 AM for breakfast snacks, registration and a mandatory driver’s meeting.

We will drive up Ute Pass to Divide, Colorado and then turn south on Highway 67 toward Cripple Creek. In Cripple Creek we will stop for a break and visit the Heritage Center. After our break, we will depart Cripple Creek on Teller County Rd 1 toward Florissant where we will head south on Teller County Rd 11 and a great drive on High Park Road toward Canon City. From Canon City we will go east on US 50 to Penrose where we will stop for lunch.

Lunch is at the Gooseberry Patch restaurant with individual checks. Make sure you let us know if you choose not to join us for lunch!

AMR SOCIAL – MAY @ Edelweiss Restaurant

The May membership social will be held on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at Edelweiss German Restaurant (34 East Ramona Avenue, Colorado Springs, 80905). Drinks will start at 6:00 PM and dinner will be served from a special menu at 6:30 PM. RSVP is required as space is limited to 75 people! Wear your Lederhosen and Dirndls if you have them!

We will be collecting the following donations for CASA’s “The Hanger”:

– New or gently used adult-sized clothing in current teen styles and brands (in-season only please as we have limited storage, no bras or underwear).
– Girls’ and guys’ hoodies for fall and winter! Teens especially like Broncos hoodies!

AMR MOUNTAIN ROADS TOUR
May 22 all-day

Colorado’s mountain roads are renowned for their great driving experience and breathtaking scenery. Our second tour of 2021 tour will provide plenty of both as we drive along the west side of the Rampart Range of the Rockies on Colorado 67. You will enjoy panoramic vistas on the way that include high mountain meadows and rugged peaks as we drive through numerous small towns. We will stop along the South Platte River, one of Colorado’s premier Gold Medal trout fisheries, and follow the South Fork of Deer Creek as we descend from the mountains to the “Front Range” of Colorado. You will also have some time to explore the Denver Botanical Gardens at Chatfield Farms before lunch.

The tour will end with lunch at Daniella’s Scratch Kitchen in Castle Rock with individual checks. At Daniella’s everything, including the hamburger buns, are made fresh in house. Make sure you let us know if you choose not to join us for lunch!

AMR “NO EXCUSES VI” HPDE @ Pueblo Motorsports Park

The Alpine Mountain Region Porsche Club will be hosting a late spring High-Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) event at the Pueblo Motorsports Park. Pueblo Motorsports Park is one of our favorite tracks. The 2.2 mile 10 turn track has fun elevation changes with a terrific “flow.” And the weather should be beautiful in early June!

As with all HPDE events, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from our dedicated corps of high performance driving instructors, who will give you one-on-one instruction on how to drive your car in a safe, fun and fast manner. We will be offering both Lead-Follow and In-Car instruction for this event. Please indicate on the registration your instruction type preference. Attendance at AMR DEs at PMSP will be limited to a total of 110 drivers per day, including up to 30 Novice and Beginner drivers depending on the number of Instructors registered. Your priority in being confirmed for an event will depend on the date and time you register. Be sure to register early. Registration closes Monday, May 31. All drivers will be Waitlisted upon registration until the event CDI confirms your driving status and can confirm that an instructor is available if you need one. Whether or not you will be allowed to drive solo vs. require an instructor at this event will be at the sole discretion of the AMR CDI Committee. Lead-Follow Instructors must have attended a Porsche Club Lead-Follow training event before this event occurs. Novices will attend the Ground School held before each of their track sessions on Saturday.

We will be offering a commemorative short sleeve No Excuses VI HPDE T-Shirt for sale. The price is $18. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to purchase one or more T-Shirts. You can pay for the T-Shirt at the event morning registration by cash or check.

This Event will be using Deferred Billing, if you are paying with a credit card it will not be charged until registration closes. The track may charge a fee at the gate each day, this cannot be included in our registration fee. Please be prepared to pay $10 at the gate.
