AMR’s third tour of the 2020 season will be a spectacular run to picturesque Breckenridge, Colorado. Please join us for a great drive to one of Colorado’s most beautiful and scenic resorts. On this tour we’ll drive northeast through Pike National Forest passing through Woodland Park, Deckers, Kenosha and Red Hill Passes, then on through Fairplay, Alma and Hoosier pass, arriving in Breckenridge. Have you ever wondered what High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) events are really like? Is it racing? Can I use my daily driver? Do I need special tires? Will it hurt my car? Will I feel intimidated by the “track junkies”? What do I need to get started?
To help answer questions, AMR will be hosting an “HPDE 101” session on March 6th 10:00-11:00 AM. The event will be held virtually. This HPDE 101 introduction is just 6 weeks before AMR’s first 2021 HPDE which will be held at La Junta Raceway on April 17-18. We will present an overview of HPDE 101 events, discuss Lead-Follow instruction we will be using while COVID-19 restrictions are in effect, and then have several of our HPDE participants share their HPDE stories. As extra incentive we are offering a $50 credit towards HPDE registration costs to all “newbies” (first timers) who attend HPDE 101. All members are welcome. There is NO cost to participate in the HPDE 101 session.
Please register on Mreg using this link http://msreg.com/AMR2021HPDE101
Further details upon signing up for the virtual event will be provided once you have registered.
For any questions please contact the Event Chair Robert Baumgartner at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Alpine Mountain Region Porsche Club will open its’ 2021 driving season with a High-Performance Drivers Education event at La Junta Raceway. We expect beautiful early spring weather at our HPDE. La Junta’s 1.3-mile 7 turn track is the perfect track for intermediate and experienced drivers alike! Its low 4000-foot elevation will enhance the power of your sports car. Come spend the weekend in La Junta and enjoy the camaraderie with your fellow Porsche Club members.
Novices will have the opportunity to learn from our dedicated corps of high performance driving instructors, who will give you one-on-one instruction on how to drive your car in a safe, fun and fast manner. We will be using Lead-Follow instruction for this event. Novices will attend the Ground School held before each of their track sessions on Saturday.
