Note: All AMR events are in CAPS.
If you missed the AMR HPDE 101 on Mar 17th, RMR is hosting their DE 101 in Englewood. Registration is through MotorsportReg.
Just a reminder that all members are welcome to join us at the AMR Board Meetings. We would like to hear your ideas and suggestions on making our club better. Please RSVP with one of our board members before the meeting.
Please join us for breakfast and a presentation of “AMR Tour 101”; we will be discussing all aspects of our 2018 tours. All those who are interested in volunteering and/or participating in the tours should attend (as well as those who just want to join us for a good breakfast). RSVP required. Please contact Nate Adams or Karl Klepfer for additional details.
If you’ve driven with us before, you know the drill, but if you have a friend who is curious… pass this along! We’re hosting a Cars & Coffee event to talk to curious drivers about Autocross, HPDE, and Time Trial – the more the merrier!
“MIXING IT UP” HPDE & AUTOCROSS
Alpine Mountain Region Porsche Club of America
April 14th and 15th, 2017 at Pikes Peak International Raceway
Sponsored by Elite Deck and Fence
Want to do an Autocross? We have that!
Want to do an HPDE (High Performance Driving Event)? We have that!
Want to do Both? We have that too!
We are very happy to announce that we are hitting the track at Pikes Peak
International Raceway with a combined HPDE and Autocross event. We will offer a Saturday Autocross, Sat and Sunday HPDE and even a combination of a Saturday Autocross and Sunday HPDE (this is a great introduction for new drivers to experience both great driving experiences).
For the HPDE, PPIR is a great track for the beginner and experienced driver alike. We will be running about 2/3 of the famed oval, plus the challenging infield road course section, so you get the best of both worlds. If you haven’t felt the thrill of going flat out around a banked oval, then hitting a tight road course, it’s something you need to experience.
The Saturday Autocross will be at the same PPIR facility to the west of the track. A great open lot will be set up by our Autocross Master (aka Tim Drummer) and run with extensive support form Rocky Mountain Region PCA from up north.
The facilities here are the best in the State, with a fully paved paddock, a large indoor viewing area, and a view of the entire circuit from atop the scoring tower. Plus, it’s only an hour south of the Denver Tech Center, just south of Colorado Springs, right off I-25. RV Parking Friday night to Sunday is also available.
As part of this event, we’ll be hosting an onsite dinner on Saturday night in the track’s beautiful banquet room right after “Beer Thirty.” This dinner is open to everyone, so sign up for the festivities even if you’re not participating in the HPDE or Autocross. Each driving day will end with the traditional “Beer Thirty” celebration.
As with all HPDE events, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from our dedicated corps of high performance driving instructors, who will give you one-on-one instruction on how to drive your car in a safe, fun and fast manner around this exciting 1.3 mile track.
Registration is now closed.
